One of the memorable moments in the book is when the Little Prince meets a pilot stranded in the desert and tells him about his adventures. The pilot recalls a time when he made a drawing of a boa constrictor swallowing an elephant as a child, but adults misunderstood it as a hat. The Little Prince, however, recognizes the drawing and befriends the pilot. Later in the story, the Little Prince reveals that he came from a tiny asteroid called B-612. He describes his departure from his home and his journey through the cosmos, using a flock of migrating birds and a hot air balloon as a means of transportation.
