Citybus has always been committed to providing the highest quality bus services at reasonable fares. Currently, Citybus operates two franchises, one for the Hong Kong Island route network and the other for the Airport and Tung Chung North Lantau route network. Citybus also provides private rental services.
In July 1979, Citybus started operating non-franchised bus services under the name Citybus. Initially, an Ailsa Volvo B55 double-decker bus was used to provide employee pick-up and drop-off services for Hong Kong Dockyard. In September of the same year, six Daimler Fleetline buses joined the Citybus fleet, and the first sightseeing open-top bus service was launched.
